Archaeology Lab
Official UCF archaeology lab page
The archaeology lab is located in Suite 217 in the Research Pavilion of the UCF Research Park. The lab houses artifacts, notes, and drawings from research directed by the Chases in Central America. The lab serves as the location for basic processing and for more detailed analysis of artifactual materials. While the laboratory is a research location, it also serves as the locus for substantial educational activity.
UCF students currently are involved in hands-on research experience in the lab on a volunteer basis and through taking credits for a practicum in laboratory analysis during the Spring semester. The lab is an area from which students not only learn about archaeology, but also may learn specific skills applicable outside an archaeological setting - such as technical drawing or computerized data entry.
